There’s a group of students taught by a teacher who writes on a chalkboard or presents slides on a projector. The students learn about math, science, history and geography at desks where they write in notebooks and take home homework each night. This is typical for most students, however there are schools around the world that encompass much more than the status quo.

And if you have ever dreamed of not having homework, grades, or mandatory classes, the free school in Brooklyn is what dreams are made of.
These are the 10 most unusual schools in the world. But every one of these schools puts a whole new take on learning, and that has to count for something.
